computerized painting still try to copy paining in style and technicques, which so far failed completely
digital arts is just simply a new media of its own, indepedent from all tradtional artistic media, and the arts just practice and accumulate his/her own skills based on new tools and new materials
fresco came from the times only materials available were animal fats and minerals, the tools were rocks, therefore the artists back then were almost anyone and the skills were almost just about randum level, at least at the begining.
how long do you think oil painting materials and tools have been available? not very long in human history, so the digitized art media should provide new media for us in the century, but not try to cipy the traditional art media and the work effects
