in another word, if they say the lays says this and that, it is perfectly alright to ask them: "fine, please give me the reference on which law you are basing this claim upon? fed code? state laws, city ordinance...? "
once they provided the reference, your friend can do the research.
you would be stupid to act just because toher threats with law. what the fuck do they know about law? daughter works for a law firm as a front desk helper? paralegal? or a lawyer?
i doubt she is a lawyer because lawyers would start with: per the law (fed, state..whatever) which and which, you are required to do what and what, specifically prohibited to do what and what..."
so yeah, challenge them on their legal grounds...
