Thank you for the nice story with photos.
Personally I think it is a good effort on the part of TCL. The drawback I noticed is showing of the actual TV itself on the righ hand part of the Ad in addition to the colorful splash on the left and TCL logo.
One key element of advertising is the room for imagination.
The TCL ad is a good try, but it seems it tries just a little bit too hard in order to leverage every single inch of the available space, as the result, the ad leaves no room for imagination.
Here is a SONY Bravia TV Ad (非平面广告)which uses the same idea - color - to promote its line of LCD TV - Bravia.
It has the brand - SONY
The product line - Bravia, meaning visually brilliant or "Best Resolution Audio Visual Integrated Architecture"
The colorful color - Tons of them
But NO TV...
The Ad's message:
The SONY Bravia LCD TV is so good at rendering color visually, you hardly notice the color is from the TV
