not 100%, but covers a great average by my own observation:
in public places like resturants, hotels...where there are service people on staff, the ones talk nicely to the staff, shake hands, greating on first name basis ar emostly from usa, the ones ordering around acting like a vip and make everything sounds like a big deal for chicken shits are normally from uk
i do not know exactly why but my guess is
in usa all heros come from some where. most big movie stars (except for those came out from their family affiliations) waited tables in new york before they land on the first hollywood contract...people cannot judge others from what they are doing today, coz they may become really a big deal way beyond your reach...
i do not know much about brit.s, but the limited exposures i had with some of them, i tend to believe comparing to the americans, they more snobish when it comes to the service things. i hope this is not a politically incorrect generalization
now, back to the chinese, go to any resturants in china today, or at least in beijing or other big cities, look at those kids and the way they talk to the country girls so happen to serve them at their tables now, i often felt like slap the kids in their face or kick their ass: how come their parents raise their kids so snobish? what happened to people are all equal?
