Most classical arts in the U.S. rely on funds from donations, not tickets sale. Money from large corps and high society charity organizations accounts for a significant portion of their funding. In Met Opera House orchestra, you can see name plate on the back of each seat, Ms. ... Rockefeller, Mr. ... Kennedy; I wonder how much they have to pay for that…
The most expensive seat, Parterre box costs over $200 for ballet performance, student discount tickets holders are entitled to seats in the orchestra (costs over $80 without discount).
The first generation of rich family creates wealth, the second generation fulfils its political ambition, you have to wait until the third generation to support arts. Long way to go for China… The riches are not yet tired of showing off how many mistresses, how many luxury cars, how many houses they own ...
