now let's take out the group that really produce art as merchandise. the serious contemporary artists today really
hope to communicate with others on their own perspectives to look at the same world others living in.
typically, the value of an artist is his/her own perspective unique and yet with a good point...
however, based on different values systems in the background
the symbles he/she are acquainted with may not necessarily be the ones you as one specific group of society memember are used to today in the pluralism era. today, the kids at schools have preppy group, funk group and goth group...they are all cool at the same time so we see the taste of values are even co-exists to prove multi-culture times.
therefore, just because you do not understand certain works,
does not mean you were stupid or the artists were. in fact, a well know saying since 60's in this country is"just because no one understands your works, does nto make you an artist!"
which means people expect not to be able to understand most art works today.
but then, do you have a desire to understand? do you have a desire to become an artist? this is where i am really interested. i am promoting the idea that we are all artists. but that goes a long way to explain my theories clearly to all.
i will certainly give it a try and hope to have responds from as many as possible. my cousin as an art professor is already practicing that in qinghua now. we have been collaborating with each other in this regard for experiements.
do we have volunteers here to join on a journey for self discovery exploration in the area of contemporary arts?
