Last year I first met him in Hong Kong, during a trip to GS's building there. He gave us a speech about China's economy. Facing 40 seasoned professionals, he started his speech in a very calm way, without any PowerPoint slides, just a glass of water and sitting comfortably. After a short speech, he opened the floor for Q&A, and answered all the question clearly - with a lot of data referenced and properly cited - all from his memory.
At the end, both myself and my colleagues were impressed by him. When I saw him interviewed the following day on CNBC, I was not suprised, since he earned it.
