Executive Series: China’s Path to Technology Superpower
Tuesday, March 16, 2004
Pillsbury Winthrop, Palo Alto, CA
Sponsored by Lally School of Management and Technology at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
China is steadily emerging as an important player in global economy. It is moving beyond simply being a site for manufacturing and the use of low cost labor to being a location for corporate R&D and high value-added manufacturing operations. Many multinational firms have established one or more R&D centers and major operations in China.
Come and learn from our keynote speaker Denis Fred Simon, Dean of the Lally School of Management and Technology at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, as well as our distinguished panel about:
What is the history of Chinese technology development and how do that compare to other nations?
How can China benefit from the MNC of leading global organizations and develop its long-term competitive advantage through technology?
How do Chinese government policies and the WTO ascension affect China's technology development?
Will China become the world's next technological superpower?
What are the hurdles for China's technology development?
What role might China play as a partner or competitor to the US?

Denis Fred Simon, Dean, Lally School of Management and Technology, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute; Former President, Monitor Group China; Former GM, Accenture China
