- sell all electronics because the voltage is different
- sell your car to dealer if you don't mind losing 15% of the value, otherwise sell it yourself to private party
- since you get a container, make sure your future house can hold it. If it can, buy A WHOLE LOT OF clothes, wine, exercise equipment, nice bedding, kitchen stuff, and furniture. In general Asia's quality in these things is terrible, if you are spoiled by American shopping. I sure am... sigh.
- I chose to get paid in local currency so I don't have to deal with two banking systems. I still have US bank accounts and investment portfolio, but decided to hire an advisor because I just don't have time to deal with all the work anymore. In general, if you can access something online, you should try to keep it.
