1. I reserve rooms with InterContinental on the North Michigan Ave., is that close to the downtown part of Chicago? Is that a safe district at night?

Of course. That is a commercial district, as safe as it gets.

2. Any nice places to visit around that district?

Watertower is a nice place on the north side of Michigan Ave. Then, walking south, you will hit Grand Park. Go see the big Bean...it makes quite a scene.

Blue House is close by as well, if you jazz.

3. Do you recommend renting a car or just using cab service?

Parking will be expensive. All amenities and shops are within walking distance. Cab is fairly sufficient.

4. Any nice restaurants around? Info on that is much appreciated.

To the west side of Drake Hotel, there is a very nice restaurant called Spiagio. The restaurant oversees Michigan lake, good view and foodm but pricy as well.

A Chinese one called Biao Bao, is closeby as well.

5. How is the weather of Chicago in May? Hot and humid?

Very pleasant. The best season for Chicago.
