Business Development Manager
Responsibilities:
In this position you will be responsible for the overall growth and development of ThoughtWorks China operations and market opportunities. Your responsibilities will also include but not be limited to:
· Set expectations and build relationships at the CEO/CTO/CIO level
· Leverage understanding of client business needs to deliver superior solutions
· Assess client needs for additional services and development opportunities
· Concentrate on revenue and demand generation through the creation and implementation of regional business development plans focused on new account acquisition and support of account expansion
· Develop ThoughtWorks presence and brand in the region and in support of strategic verticals (industries) through the penetration of new accounts
· Uncover opportunities for the development of business solutions that utilize existing and emerging TW technologies and competencies
· Collaborate with partner organizations to develop joint solution offerings
· Work closely with technical staff on presentations, proposals, and other sales-related artefact creation
· Accountable and responsible for relationship and risk management on projects as the primary client-facing ThoughtWorks representative
· Report opportunities, revenue, risks to ThoughtWorks global management
· Mentor and develop people
Qualifications:
· 10+ years of total IT experience including hands-on delivery, project management, sales and/or solution development
· 2+ years experience selling complex services, preferably within a reputable professional services organization
· 2+ years experience in organizational operations
· 5+ years experience in hand-on delivery roles, preferably in analysis, writing code and/or project management
· Exceptional consulting and client management skills, including Program Management organization, presentations, project planning, managing expectations
· Experience in application or system deployment, including implementation and enhancements
· Extensive OOAD and formal methodology knowledge and experience, preferably Agile Methodologies
· Broad technical knowledge of application architecture, system architecture, application integration, relational databases, and object oriented languages
· Ability to sell project-based solutions utilizing ThoughtWorks custom e-business application development services
· High energy, entrepreneurial spirit with an ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic business environment
· Existing business relationships with large companies with a China presence
· Passion for cutting edge technology and comfort working in a development-centric atmosphere is a plus
· Proven track record selling IT professional services
· Consistent over-performance against targets
· Pro-active, action-oriented and results-focused attitude
· Persistent, creative and intelligent in approach and pursuit of business
· Ability to work individually AND within a highly collaborative environment with other passionate learners
· Domain knowledge in Financial Services, Energy, Government and/or Retail industries
· Able to travel to client sites, including international travel
· Fluent in written and oral English
