We are creating the world\'s first global, Internet-based language-learning school incorporating the creative use of cutting-edge developments in memory technology, data visualization, information architecture, interactive design, and multimedia cultural content. This is both a new kind of Internet company and a new approach to foreign language-learning. Our language e-learning model will first be developed for native English speakers to learn Chinese, and we are building a global core office in China. We are seeking an inspired, forward-thinking Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to form our core team in Shanghai or Beijing.
Your roles:
playing a pivotal role in conceptualizing our products and services
hiring and leading a team of programmers
expanding our scope of thinking and imagination by exploring new possibilities from a technologically-informed perspective
working in a multilingual, international, and interdisciplinary environment
being part of a unique opportunity to create leading innovation in a critical field of education
having a chance to apply leading-edge ideas from information design for a practical, large-scale, mainstream application
Qualities we are seeking:
pioneering track record in the conception and development of new software, particularly web-based applications
experience leading medium-to-large scale projects from conception to delivery
current with new and interesting technologies
understanding of the broader human context in which technology operates
a fun sense of creativity
an interest in foreign languages in general, including Chinese
This job demands total commitment, superior technical knowledge and applied creativity.
